Many of our clients are webdesigners or similar reselling our products and wish to conceal PRO ISP as a provider for parts of their service. Our nameservers are:

  • Host: ns1.proisp.no
    IPv4: 149.202.67.37
    IPv6: 2001:41d0:d:2725::
  • Host: ns2.proisp.no
    IPv4: 162.159.25.138
    IPv6: 2400:cb00:2049:1::a29f:198a

Usually they require hostnames on the nameservers of their own to conceal PRO ISP are being used. In this example we wish to use the following hostname for own nameservers:

  • ns1.dinns.no
  • ns2.dinns.no

The following process must be executed for this result:

  1. Create A-record and AAAA-record (for IPv6) via DNS-control for ns1.dinns.no and ns2.dinns.no:
    ns1.dinns.no -> 149.202.67.37
    ns1.dinns.no -> 2001:41d0:d:2725::
    ns2.dinns.no -> 162.159.25.138
    ns2.dinns.no -> 2400:cb00:2049:1::a29f:198a

  2. Change NS-records via DNS-control from:
    ns1.proisp.no
    ns2.proisp.no
    To:
    ns1.dinns.no
    ns2.dinns.no

  3. If the nameservers are going to be on another domain than .no the nameservers need to be registered manually by PRO ISP. Please contact support in these cases. If you have .no domain you may proceed to the next step as this will happen automatically.

  4. Change nameservers for dinns.no to:
    ns1.dinns.no
    ns2.dinns.no

Now ns1.dinns.no and ns2.dinns.no kan be used on all domains using our nameservers.

Please be aware that we can add extra nameservers eventually and you will have to add extra nameservers using these nameservers. When changing IP on one of our nameservers you must update IP via DNS-control and on nameserver with registrant. We will notify clients in cases like this.
