This guide details how to proceed to start using "Indexes" in cPanel. The guide requires you to first log into cPanel.
Let’s say you have a folder named "photos". If you do not have any index.html file in this folder, visitors can see a list of the contents of the folder if this person types the address in the web browser. A way to prevent this is to start using "Indexes" which can turn off indexing in the folder.
Step 1:
Click on the icon for "Indexes" as shown in the screenshot below:

To continue, we must pick a folder we want to set indexing on/off for. In the example below we choose the folder called "pictures" by clicking on it.

Indexing is now turned off for this folder. To go back to the "Indexes" menu, click "Go back".

If you want to turn on indexing for the chosen folder, click "Advanced indexing (file name and description)" and click "Save".
